At PRAX Studio our approach to design is based on the belief that open and genuine collaboration with clients is the key to a project’s success. Every site is different, every project brief is different and every client’s measure of success is different so we don’t believe in imposing architectural ideas for their own sake. We believe each project brings unique opportunities and deserves to be considered with a fresh perspective.

We are a small but growing practice specialising in commercial, residential and multi-residential projects in the eastern states. We bring a pragmatic and commercially minded approach to each commission and deliver innovative, contextual and beautiful solutions that consistently exceed our clients' expectations.

We believe that good design can and should be practical and useful as well as beautiful. It should deliver an outcome that is sustainable and appropriate to its place and time. It should always seek to turn constraints into opportunities and to extract maximum value from every site and project. Good design should deliver a solution that is more than the sum of its parts.         


PRAX Studio is led by Stephen Pratt. Stephen is the point of contact for all PRAX client relationships and leads the design and delivery of all our projects from inception to completion.

Stephen is a NSW and QLD registered architect with over 20 years of experience in the design and delivery of commercial, residential and mixed-use architecture. His experience extends from involvement in design competitions to leadership of teams through design development and the management of complex client and stakeholder engagement through project delivery. Prior to forming PRAX Studio, Stephen held senior roles at several of Australia’s largest and most highly regarded design practices where he led a number of significant and award-winning projects across Australia’s eastern states and abroad.

Amanda leads business operations and management at PRAX Studio. Amanda has over 15 years of leadership experience delivering large projects including technology transformations, acquisitions, mergers, and workforce restructuring. She has held senior management positions both in Australia and abroad and worked for several large firms such as Deloitte, TAFE NSW and the Royal Australian Air Force. As a consultant, Amanda has led successful projects for a number of large corporate and institutional clients such as Energy Queensland, Stanwell, Suncorp and Queensland Health. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Queensland and sits on the Board of Directors of Family Services Australia as well as being a Principal of PRAX Studio.
