ALFRED STREET APARTMENTS
PRAX Studio has been engaged to prepare a concept design for a residential apartment tower on a tight inner-urban site.
Our strategy for this design was to reinforce the street elevations with a new podium form that enhances the existing streetscape character. A palette of industrial materials acknowledges the site's unique history, including off-form concrete, face brickwork and glass reinforced concrete. The tower and podium forms are articulated with thoughtful detailing, creating a deep, textured elevation providing sun-shading while sub-tropical landscaping features prominently to help soften and diffuse light and views.
